None of us get out alive ....

Life lessons from Christopher Walken: "None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else." Remember: Get your health and funeral insurance sorted out as well ;-)

Health Cuts in Public Health Care in the Canaries

It has been reported today in the Tenerife News that residents are urged to fight public health cuts. The government of the archipelago is planning to slash the budget by 11 million euros affecting materials and human resources in the already heavily burdened public health sector.

The cuts will affect the renewal of recent contracts, sick leave, holidays and days off and will have a major impact on the University Hospital, Tenerife with the loss of 5,000 ultrasounds, 1,000 operations and 200 resonance imaging equipment.

This will place the Canaries in 2017 last in the rankings for waiting lists, which will result in the worsening of diseases and increased mortality, in short creating a bigger problem in public health.

If you don't have private medical health care, perhaps now is a good time to take out private health insurance?

Are you happy with your current insurance premiums?

Unfortunately far too many people have their insurance policies on automatic renewal via their banks and do not check what they are getting in return for their insurance policies. You be may be surprised to find that out there is a cheaper premium with better coverage with another insurance company out there.

It is always advisable to get  quotes to check if you are getting value for money and make sure you are covering all your needs, perhaps your circumstances have changed from when you first took out the policy?

If you are uncertain about moving from a company you have been with for many years, remember loyalty does not pay and sometimes it pays to switch.  Don't worry about moving, at the end of the day, the choice is yours and it could make an economic difference and have added benefits for you. It is always better to be well informed and saving money in the long-term.

If you need any quotes as a comparison, with no obligation, for the following insurances detailed below, please do not hesitate to contact me by using the contact form or email
